USA hockey thumped the Fins 6-1 today in the Olympic Hockey Semifinal. They now move on to play either Canada or Slovakia in the gold medal game on Sunday on NBC. If you have’nt watched olympic hockey yet, TUNE IN SUNDAY TO THE GOLD MEDAL game! You will be amazed at how much better olympic hockey is than the NHL. And Sunday it will be on in HD! They need an instant “microwave” scorer and he is the perfect fit. He has played under Larry Brown in the past and Sacramento just let him walk with a hefty buyout. He would come cheap and could help propel the Cats into the playoffs! They need another bench scorer….bad! While I loved the Tyrus Thomas trade, I kind of had a feeling that they would miss Flip. 1. I am DVR’ing South Carolina at Kentucky as theirs no chance the Gamecocks win their 4th in a row over Kentucky. Especially on the road!

2. I’m watching what has been a horrible first two nights of American Idol. I want to see which poor souls cry first after his and hers dreams are shattered!

3. I might and I mean it is a very small possiblity I will watch parts of the combine. And it will be ONLY to see wht the NFL looks like on HD. I have yet to enjoy it in HD.

Jay Weezie and I stumbled accross her moments ago in studio a-b-c. I have never heard of her until today and like weezie and I, you will be impressed with this 22 year old snowboarder. Except not for the snowboarding…check this out! Keep your eyes on the video.

Packman showed me the pic of the special uniforms the Heels are wearing tonight vs. FSU. Just like their program, the silver on silver uniforms are god awful. FYI Tar Heel fans, win a game in your regular uni’s before you go ahead and add an alternate one. You cant win in tar heel blue let alone tar heel silver. Heels….you suck!

USA scores an empty netter, by Zach Parise to clinch USA’s win over the Swiss! It’s now on to Friday’s final 4 matchup with either the Fins or the Czech. Ryan Miller once again steller in goal.

1 - 0 Team USA as Zach Parise of the New Jersey Devils puts the biscuit in the basket on the power play!!! After Philppe Furrer was sent off for tripping Phil Kessel, Parise redirected a long shot from Brian Rafalski. Parise was was tapping his stick on the ice in front of Swiss goaltender Jonas Hiller calling for the puck and Rafalski sent it his way. Parise then tipped it and it trickled into the net.

Jonas Hiller, the rock solid goalie for team Switzerland and the Anaheim Ducks, is shuting out the Americans so far through a period and a half. He is matching Ryan Miller of team USA, save for save. The US defense is playing well, however there passing is sloppy and there whifing on alot of shots. Stay tuned here for more updates. I’m jonesing olympic hockey right now!!
